1986-2000 owned Sea World business in Tasmania;
1991-1994 majority shareholder in aquaculture venture - "Coles Bay Shellfish" - producing oysters & mussels;
1996 purchased property in Prince of Wales Bay currently being developed;
2003 established "Clean Lift Marine" - a new concept in Tasmanian whereby boats are lifted out of the water by means of a travelling crane, serviced and maintained.

Allen Hansen
established Tasmanian Seafoods P/L in 1969, a Processor, wholesaler and exporter of seafood including abalone, sea cucumber, scallops, lobster, whiting, prawns and sea urchin. The company is now the largest abalone canner in the world.
Allen has been a member of the TAC since its inception and became a life member of the TAC in 2006. Allen continues to serve on the following TAC committees: Abalone Fishery Advisory Committee (AbFAC), Abalone Research Advisory Group (AbRAG), TAC Stock Assessment Committee, and been involved in various Victorian and West Australian fishery organizations including; (VADA), (VAPA), (SIV), (WADA), (WAFIC), (AAA), Queensland Sea Cucumber Association, Stout Whiting Industry Association (Queensland), Coral Sea Fishers Association, Tuna West Indian Ocean Association.
Northern Territory Seafood Council, Commonwealth Fishers Association, (executive and founding member), Australian Fisheries Management Authority, (AFMA). 2001 Allen was awarded the Centenary Medal by the Australian Government for Leadership to the seafood industry and contribution to the community. Most recently Allen was also awarded the 2009 Tasmanian Export Leadership Award. |
